Passing of a Hero
One of the coolest parts of serving at ANM is that we get to meet heroes of the faith, the Native Missionaries. We get to hear their stories about what God is doing in them and through their ministry. I am humbled every time I get to sit and hear firsthand how awesome our God is and see the faith that these missionaries have. Many of them go through persecution on a daily basis, but have so much faith in God. They have a heart for the lost, and they will endure anything to do the work of their Heavenly Father. Those of you who have been hearing about “The 10/40 Expedition: Quest for the Lost Window” have probably posed the question: “Why missions?” Why is that the focus of this curriculum? Allow me to do what I do best and use a story to illustrate my answer… Once upon a time, there was a little girl. Let’s call her Alexa. Alexa was born into a family that supported native missions. Who are the Children at the Trinity School at Rehoboth Home?
The following stories are reflections shared by a recent visitor to Rehoboth: One special student learning at the Trinity School is Monica. She and her sister Yaamini came to Rehoboth a few years ago having just lost their parents to AIDS. They had their beautiful black Indian hair shaved to remove lice and sat with their arms around one another trying to find solace.
