Shobha's Request
05th Dec.2010Dear Prayer partners,Late last night, we received a phone call from Chhattarpur that Arun’s Mother was admitted in the hospital as her blood pressure shot up. Her heart was not pumping blood properly. Early this morning suddenly her BP dropped too low. Just now I received a call that she is doing better. Please pray for her. Aetas Bible Study and Worship Center
Organized by Wilson Ladringan, whose ambition as a child was to become a soldier like his father, the Aetas Bible Study and Worship Center (ABSC) is a ministry reaching out to the illiterate and impoverished aborigines of the Philippines known as the Aetas. The eruption of Mount Pinatubo in June 1991 buried most of the mountains of Zambales in volcanic ash and sand, displacing many of the Aetas who lived in these mountains. ABSC runs Maranatha Children’s Home that primarily caters to the physical, educational, and spiritual needs of the indigent Aeta children and youth ages 5 to 18 years from the different tribal villages in Zambales. Both Wilson and Cora have degrees in education, which...

An Expedition Update
During The 10/40 Expedition: Quest for the Lost Window’s first year in the marketing world, we sold 30 curriculums. In most cases, the curriculum was used as a VBS, but it was also used as: a summer camp curriculum a Wednesday night study a fall quarter Sunday School curriculum an outreach to a Sioux reservation Many of the churches using the curriculum hosted missionaries the church already supports who shared with the children either in person or via Skype. For those who weren’t able to do this, we had missionaries available to come and share their hearts and ministry. Two different missionaries sponsored by ANM traveled to five Expeditions in order to give children a clearer...

Hello from the Education Advocates Director
Hello, my name is Sonia Cabell, and I would like to introduce myself to you! For the past 10 years, I have been in the field of education, working as a teacher, literacy coach, researcher, and writer. Most recently, I completed my Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in Reading Education. I feel personally called to apply the knowledge and skills the Lord has developed in me over the years to serve schools, teachers, and children overseas. The goal is to come alongside overseas educators to provide sustained support to enhance the quality of school literacy programs. In doing this, I hope to build a team of American educators that will provide encouragement to native missionaries and ongoing...

Educationing the Children of Thailand
A quality education is important in changing the life and future of a child. A Christian education not only trains them in skills for making a living in the future but also shares the love of Christ. Make education available in a safe, loving atomosphere by providing funds for project # 385, the Genesis School Building....

PARTNER with us to ENGAGE the NEXT GENERATION!
One of our main goals is to find ways to engage the next generation in what God is doing through native missions. But we need your help, and we need your prayers. Please continue to pray that God's power, presence, and guidance will be our strength and ever-present help. We have found that to engage means "to make active". Therefore, we must: educate the next generation about native missions by developing fun, interactive, native missions-minded, God-centered curriculum/resources so children & youth leaders are empowered. stress the importance of prayer by giving children & students ways they can pray for native missionaries. give opportunities to students to use their talents...

Impacting Children
India Gospel Outreach and Social Action (IGOSA) finds that the most effective way to minister is to target children. Among their many other ministries, IGOSA has four child development centers with approximately 700 children among them. While some of these children are orphans, the majority of them come from homes with parents who do not have the financial capability of sending them to school. By the grace of God, these children are doing very well academically. Along with their studies, these children are taught Biblical lessons and Christian principles. They also learn cultural dances that have been put to Christian music. Through these dances and perhaps a skit they memorize...

Family Ministry
Lily and Elise were raised by missionary parents. They grew up in a dangerous area where people were shot and killed on a daily basis and children were taken away from their parents and forced to serve in rag-tag armies. The girls ministered alongside their parents in a variety of ways until one day the family discovered that someone wanted them all dead. Lily and Elise followed their parents to the airport, hiding behind garbage cans and anything else that would provide them cover along the way. The family escaped to Florida, which provided a place of refuge for a time, but it wasn't long before God called them back to their native country to serve the war-torn people. Saying goodbye...

Help Colombia Hear
As June is coming to a close, we want to encourage you to continue praying for those native missionaries who are reaching their own peoples in Latin America. But before this month ends, we also want to share with you an opportunity to GIVE. Therefore, we have asked our ANM Warehouse Team to tell us how children, students, and teachers can help those in Columbia hear the Gospel, and they responded as follows:COLUMBIA: In the midst of great persecution, Christ to the Unreached Tribes has been bearing fruit for 29 years. Their vision is to have 500 churches among the 80 tribes by 2015. We at Advancing Native Missions want to be a part of this vision as we equip and encourage these dedicated...

Heal This Heart of Mine
Author: Rebekah Monica is one of the most active people in her church. At only twelve years old, she reads better than most adults in her village. Since most of the village members are illiterate, they were curious to know the secret of Monica’s excellence in reading. Her answer is simply, “The Bible.” After one of the first church services that was held in her village by a neighboring ministry, Monica requested to be given a Bible so she could read these precious stories with her own eyes. Her determination to learn more about this Jesus caused her to excel at reading, and she became an inspiration to her classmates as she began to read the Scriptures to them.Then...

In the Face of Rifles
Samuel thought he was going to die for sure. His heart pounded frantically in his chest as he considered what could very well be his last conscious thought. “What about my wife and children?” Children. It was children who had ambushed him. These boys were as young as thirteen years old. They had most likely been wrenched from their homes and forced to serve in this rag-tag group of guerilla soldiers. Samuel looked around once more, and suddenly he didn’t see a group of killers with guns trained on him. He saw a bunch of frightened, teenage boys. “You’re afraid,” he observed. “You’re afraid of the fact that you could die in any given moment. I have...

The Call of a Pastor
One day, seventeen-year-old Antonio was near a church with his friends. They had been throwing rocks at the church building for weeks, but this day a bet was made. Whoever could sneak up to the front of the sanctuary and touch one of the girls who were praying would win this bet. Antonio stood in the doorway, waiting for a chance to make his move. Suddenly the pastor pointed straight at him, bidding him to come to the altar, but Antonio was not there to accept Jesus into his heart. He waited until the pastor closed his eyes in prayer before he slowly made his way forward. But as he drew near, the pastor opened his eyes. He asked Antonio what he was doing there. “I...

Who's Afraid of the Big, Bad Wolf?
Abby's heart pounded wildly in her chest. She had picked the wrong shepherd, and now she was facing the consequences. In her mind, she knew the scene playing out before her was just an act, but it seemed so real, and as the screams from her other crew members rose around her, Abby got a little scared. The person in the wolf costume was rapidly approaching the flimsy sheepfold, and the so-called shepherd had bailed. "It's just an act," she reminded herself. "It's just an act." But as the wolf took hold of her cousin, Abby forgot that fact of which she had been working so hard to convince herself. She went into full defense mode, thinking of nothing more than saving...

Untouchable
The word "Dalit" means "crushed, broken, or oppressed." It well describes a group of people who are living in modern-day slavery. In the past, not even their shadows were allowed to cross a person of a higher caste. For centuries, their society has said they are "untouchable" - too lowly to be included in the Hindu caste system. They are considered subhuman and worthless by birth. Not only are the children denied an education, but the entire Dalit people are denied access to water sources for it is said they will contaminate them. One man dreamed of building a school for these children in order to equip them to break the cycle of poverty that has enslaved them for so long....

Brian's Story
Brian was an eighteen-year old drug courier who was also using crack cocaine, marijuana, other street drugs and alcohol. He was invited to attend a youth camp near his hometown, and there he found love, acceptance, and Christian fellowship. When the invitation was given to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord during the final chapel service, Brian was one of the first ones who came, crying his heart out to the One who had been crucified to wash away the sins of the world - Brian's sins. While giving his testimony, he asked the camp leader if he could hug her. She held him tightly for a long time, overwhelmed by God’s goodness and...

Educating Africa
Children in Africa are starving. Not only for food, but for education. Without schooling - without an education that will train their eyes to look beyond their current situations - these children will never rise above the dire circumstances into which they were born. You can make a difference in the life of a child. You can help them receive an education that will make their futures that much brighter. Advancing Native Missions is partnering with ministries around the world to ensure that these children receive the educations they deserve. Only $25 dollars a month will send a child to school. Sweet Prayers
Here's an interesting way to get kids to pray for the countries of the 10/40 Window: In case you haven't noticed, the 10/40 Expedition's travel logs are color-coded. Africa is yellow, Middle East is purple, and so on. Hand each of your kids an m&m and have them pray for the region that matches their assigned color (perhaps substituting brown for purple). If you have come up with any interesting ways to use The 10/40 Expedition: Quest for the Lost Window curriculum, please email Rebekah so we can share the idea and help one another....

Expedition Tips
The 10/40 Expedition is up and running! Churches all over the United States are making their plans. What I find most exciting about these expedition preparations is that these hardworking children's ministers are sharing their wonderful ideas with me. In the past few weeks, I have heard so many amazing suggestions that I feel should be shared with others who may be leading an expedition. I will try to keep these posts coming faithfully every Saturday, so be sure to check back in for the latest expedition news. Now for tip #1... As you may know, the most unique part of The 10/40 Expedition is the opportunity to have a native missionary come share with your kids. We've had several people...

Revival Among Children
A ministry in South East Asia recently conducted a children's camp. At first they were disappointed that only forty children showed up, but God would quickly reveal that He had big plans for this seemingly small group of kids. On March 10th, the Holy Spirit began moving among these kids. All forty of them felt convicted and began crying out, "Lord, forgive me of my sins!" This was followed by other confessions such as, "Mom and Dad, forgive me for telling lies to you." After the revival and repentance had taken place, the children continued to praise God until 12:30 at night. Even though the camp was only scheduled from March 8th through March 12th, the date was extended through March...

Prayers for Trinity School
I ask you to pray for the needs of Trinity School in India. This school just began less than 2 years ago and is growing quickly! Here are some prayer requests: Pray for teachers and the ability to provide for teachers' salaries. This past year the school enrolled children in preschool through third grade. Starting this year, the school will enroll children through eighth grade. Pray for the school as they reach out to the poor and needy. This time of year, they are recruiting for the upcoming school year (starting in June). Pray for the spiritual lives of the teachers in the school. Pray that they will have a rest during the holidays and will be able to start a new year refreshed. Pray...

Goats for Africa
My sister got a little baby pygmy goat last spring and I must confess, I think she is the most fun creature I've ever been around. She would follow us around and curl up beside us like a dog would. I was amazed by how high she could jump with such little legs. If you are planning on getting a pet, I highly recommend pygmy goats. But in some areas of the world, goats are so much more than just a pet; they are a livelihood. Advancing Native Missions partners with ministries in Africa that are presenting goats to poor village children. These goats will make wonderful companions for these children, but also provide for them by producing milk. The goat's offspring can be sold in order to supply income...

Education Advocates: 2009 in Review
As I look back over the last year, I see the Lord at work in every aspect of Education Advocates. The Lord placed a vision in my heart to help the education programs of our native missions. He did this through placing a special burden on my heart for a school in India affiliated with the Rehoboth Home for Children. The vision for the school is to provide an excellent Christian education to the children at Rehoboth Home as well as to the poor and needy children in the community who are often denied access to schooling. When I heard about the school and its lack of supplies and resources, I felt a burden in my heart. I thought, I have to help them. How can I not? I was especially concerned for...

Bible Exploration
The Bible Exploration site is probably the most important part of the VBS experience. It is in this place that children hear the Word of God as they watch it come to life before their very eyes. The 10/40 Expedition: Quest for the Lost Window has a simple way of telling these stories. We take them straight from the Bible, but combine a few translations to make it more understandable to the kids. We think it is absolutely vital to convince these children that the Bible is not a fairy-tale. It's not some made-up story of people who never really existed. And while The 10/40 Expedition is meant to make kids aware of the work God is doing in the world, our efforts will amount to nothing if God does...

Hope for Orphans
There is a ministry in the Ukraine that runs a summer camp for orphans and children from poor families. At this camp, kids are taught the love of Jesus by having it demonstrated to them. They attend Bible lessons, create crafts, play games, and sing songs. Last year, this ministry conducted four camps drawing a total of 406 kids. Many of these kids wrote letters of appreciation, telling the ministry leader of how they have finally seen real love and felt - perhaps for the first time in their lives - as if they were part of a family. Bible lessons is a favorite among most of the kids there, for it is during these lessons that they learn about this love they so desperately crave. Another...

Meet Faith. She is a teacher at Trinity Nursery and Primary School, which is located in a small town in southern India. Trinity reaches out to serve the poor and needy families in the community. Faith teaches the youngest children in the school, the pre-kindergarten and the lower kindergarten. She has a full classroom of lively and spirited children. You can pray for Faith in the following ways: Pray for guidance and wisdom from the Lord as she teaches the children. Pray for the children under her care. She has one child with special needs. Pray for rest and energy for Faith, as she has a full day without any breaks. Pray for the spiritual well-being of Faith’s family....

Why This Bag is Special
The tote bag in which The 10/40 Expedition is packaged was made by women in India. Because of a native missionary, these ladies heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and were saved from a life of slavery. Your support in purchasing this curriculum aids in their new life of freedom. There are over 60,000 sex workers in the city of Mumbai, India. Every day, these young women are forced to do horrible things in order to pay off a debt they owe to the brothel owners who bought them. Many times these debts are far too high to ever be repaid, and those who do achieve in purchasing their freedom often have no place to go. Having been rejected by their families, these women turn back to the only other thing...

Why Missions?
Those of you who have been hearing about “The 10/40 Expedition: Quest for the Lost Window” have probably posed the question: “Why missions?” Why is that the focus of this curriculum? Allow me to do what I do best and use a story to illustrate my answer… Once upon a time, there was a little girl. Let’s call her Alexa. Alexa was born into a family that supported native missions. She grew up hearing missionaries' stories that reminded her of the Bible stories about God’s miraculous provision. Alexa soaked in all that she heard about missions – especially when she was at missions conferences. The church she attended hosted these events once a year,...

Sponsor a Child from Rehoboth Home for Children
Advancing Native Missions assists children's homes and orphanages which are run by Christian ministries focused on evangelizing the lost. In the course of reaching the unreached, many native missionaries come across orphaned or underprivileged children who lack proper food, shelter, clothing, and education. In some instances, these ministry leaders have started children homes dedicated not only to feed, clothe, and educate these helpless children but also to raise them up to be effective, fruitful disciples of Jesus Christ. In these children's homes, many boys and girls decide to become followers of Jesus; and as they grow up, some decide to become missionaries to their own people! One...

Thanking God for You
Happy Thanksgiving!! I am thanking the Lord for your partnership with us. If you are reading this blog post, I am thanking the Lord for YOU specifically. Thank you for your prayers and concern for native missionaries. Please continue to pray for the children at Rehoboth Home for Children, the teachers at Trinity Nursery and Primary School, and the educators working with former prostitutes through Bombay Teen Challenge. We can learn much about thanking the Lord regardless of our circumstances from Pavithra and Gokul, children at Rehoboth. These children recently had delicate surgery on their hands to help correct deformities. Even through their pain, they cried out to the Lord,...

Surgery for Rehoboth Children: Update
Siblings Pavithra and Gokul are two of the orphans cared for at Rehoboth Home for Children. They have recently had surgery to help correct a birth deformity in their hands. After the surgery, they were in intense pain but they were crying out to the Lord, "Sthothram, Sthothram (Praise God, Praise God!)" They know that the pain will give way to much better use of their hands. Today, they woke up without pain! Please pray for good recovery for the delicate healing of hand muscles and nerves. Please pray too for the stamina of the ministry leaders as they care for Pavithra and Gokul along with the rest of the children....

Many Thai people are spiritually hungry for the Gospel. Thawai and Veneko have answered God's call and chosen to minister to these needy people. In the midst of all the church planting and evangelism they are doing, the Chaisuks have a dream of building a Christian school. They realize that the opportunities to receive a good education in their area are few, so this school is their attempt to remedy that, as well as lead many children to the Lord. They have already purchased two and one-half acres of land, but are waiting...

Pray for Surgery for Rehoboth Children
Pavithra and Gokul were born with deformities on their hands and feet. Therefore, the use of their hands and feet have been very limited. Last year, surgery for these siblings' feet was performed. This surgery enabled Pavithra and Gokul to wear shoes for the first time. Now, these children are having surgery on their hands. Please pray for the surgery and their recovery afterwards. Praise the Lord that He has provided this opportunity for Pavithra and Gokul. Just as Jesus said that the blind man was born blind to display the glory of God, please pray that the Lord would receive glory through these surgeries. ...

Student Speaks Out About Mission Trip
The following testimony is from a girl that I was privileged to go to Guatemala with. She has an incredible heart for the Lord and a willingness to serve wherever there is a need. I think you will be able to see a little of her heart beat in her testimony. Hi, my name is Brittany Jones. I am a 16 year old from Louisiana. This trip to Guatemala was my first international mission trip. It was an amazing experience. God definitely opened my eyes to needs of others. In the US we often get complacent. We expect God to give us certain things and we expect not to have any problems. It is not that way here. A lot of people don’t even have the basics for survival. Working in the nutrition center...

Clean Water for the Nations
Many people around the world either don't have access to water or only have contaminated water. The Ati Tribes Mission (ATM) is a ministry in Southeast Asia that ministers to the people of Antique province. It's founders, Roger and Sylvia Elosendo have a heart for the Ati people and want to reach the twenty-one Ati areas with the Gospel. They also would very much like to start a Bible School ministry to encourage the people of Ati. Last year, about a hundred young people attended ATM's summer youth camps and many opened their hearts to receive Jesus as their Savior. The main needs of ATM are a well to draw fresh water from and rice, as it is their staple food. The Elosendos...

Love Like a Child
The other day, I was sharing about Rehoboth Home for Children in a school in Virginia. This school is beginning a partnership with the school at Rehoboth. I was reminded once again of Jesus' words that we must become like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven. I explained to the children that the children in Rehoboth often had parents who did not want them. A five-year-old boy raised his hand and wisely stated, "Those kids should pray for their parents." This is a seemingly simple statement but it has profound implications. We should show love and care toward those who have hurt us, those who have abandoned us. We should forgive...

Trinity School in India: Ministering to the Community
At Rehoboth Home for Children in Southern India, there is a Christian school ministering to the community: Trinity Nursery and Primary School. Trinity welcomes children from the surrounding community and has a diverse population, with many Hindu, Christian, and Muslim children along with those from poor and needy families. Malliga, the ministry leader, has a vision for the school. Her dream is for the school to: Be fully Christian Serve the poor and needy Provide the best education possible What is meant by "fully Christian" is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus and help children grow in their knowledge and love for Jesus. Serving the poor and the...

A School's Potential to Minister to the Community
When I spent time at Rehoboth Home for Children in southern India, I focused on working with the teachers in Trinity Nursery and Primary School. Before making the trip, I had thought that if we can focus efforts to increase the quality of the school, the school would draw more children from the community. In turn, the funds that the school received from tuition could be a potential way of helping the home for children become more self-sustaining. What I didn't fully realize was the school's potential to be an important component of sharing the love of Jesus with others in the community. Here is one story of how Trinity School ministers to the community. Meet Jagen....

Meet the OCH Director
Hello, My name is Mindy Spurrier and I am the Director of Operation Child Hope. Our team thought it would be good if we shared our testimonies of how the Lord saved us and how we came to be working with Him here at Advancing Native Missions. We appreciate your prayers and look forward to updating these stories of faith in the future. I was born in Ocala, Florida as an only child to my parents. My childhood was unique because by the age of nine, I had moved 20 times within the USA because of my Dad’s job. Then in 1985, my life was turned upside down because my parents divorced, which moved my mom and I from where we were currently living in Tennessee back to Florida to live with my Grandma....

Pencils for Colombia (by Sue Morris)
A missionary from Colombia spoke in our school’s chapel a few weeks ago. He shared that the children at his school didn’t own even one pencil or piece of paper. He asked if our students would be willing to share a pencil with the children in Colombia. He ended with the query, “Are any of you called to be a missionary?” About 15 of the 42 kindergarten through 7th graders responded. After chapel, the missionary was talking with some teachers and students when he was suddenly surrounded by beaming kindergarten students each holding up a shiny new pencil with a colorful eraser and pencil grip. The impact of this act is far reaching! In times of danger, memories...

UPDATE: The 10/40 Expedition Curriculum
While the NXG "on-site" team was in India, The 10/40 Expedition Curriculum was piloted at a church in Iowa Thankfully, our "off-site" team of volunteers who have helped develop the curriculum were able to go and see their hard work in action. By taking pictures, video, and interviewing, our team was able to capture many God moments. We have had many reports since the Pilot. We will keep you updated as we hear more. But please join with us in praising the Lord for all that He is doing to bring glory to His name! Over 100 kids attended the Pilot Expedition By the end of the week, 32 children came forward to accept the Lord as their Savior. At the same time, one father also came to...

Prayer Requests for Trip to India
Hello, praying friends! We are here in India helping with the school at Rehoboth. We are very excited but need your prayers. Here are some requests. Pray for the teachers of the school. They have very few resources and are very happy about receiving training. Please pray for them to remain open to instruction. Pray for me that I know how to help the teachers take the next step forward in their instruction. Please pray for a Hindu family that has a child with autism. There is a big struggle and the child's mother is suicidal. Children with disabilities appear to be viewed as a curse to some families in India. Pray for the ministry leader that she will be able to have the opportunity...

We are Here at Rehoboth Home for Children
Everyone has welcomed us so warmly at Rehoboth Home for Children. We are fed so well (and so much)! Indian hospitality is amazing. I have had the opportunity to interact with both the children and the teachers. The children are precious. Each time I visit them, they surround me with love and ask about things like my favorite color and birthday. The teachers are very kind and desire to grow in their teaching. They are doing amazingly well given the limited resources (such as no children's books in any classrooms). I will be working with these dear teachers next week daily to help them to take the next step in their literacy instruction. Please pray that the Lord will guide us in this endeavor....

Two Days to Go
Please pray for our team as some of us will visit Rehoboth Home for Children, a ministry to orphans in South India. Help Them Come to Him
Matthew 19:14Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Although there are many good children homes and orphanages around the world, ANM assists children homes and orphanages which are run by Christian ministries focused on evangelizing the lost. In the course of reaching the unreached, many native missionaries come across orphaned or underprivileged children who lack proper food, shelter, clothing, and education. In some instances, these ministry leaders have started children homes dedicated not only to feed, clothe, and educate these helpless children but also to raise them up to be effective, fruitful...

Why Learn About Native Missionaries? An Educator's Perspective (by Sue Morris)
Mark Twain said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” Maya Angelou added to this by saying, “Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.” The Bible says, “God hath made of one blood all nations of men.” The challenge as an educator is to help children who may never travel the world to grasp the concepts of acceptance, open-mindedness, and concern for people of the world. One very powerful way to accomplish this is through exposing children to native missionaries...

A High Schools Student's Thoughts on Missions
Raquel is a high school student who has a unique testimony and thoughts on missions. Enjoy seeing the heart of a precious jewel. "I am native to Nicaragua, Central America, where poverty is everywhere. I lived part of my childhood walking the streets. In 1997 a family helped me and placed me in an orphanage where they took care of me. I lived in the orphanage until 1999, when I was adopted by a family in the US. Since then my parents have adopted my half brother and two other children from Nicaragua. We have all become a family and I have brothers and a sister to share my life with. My parents started a feeding center in Nicaragua that feeds the street children twice a week. This gives children...

Who are the Children at the Trinity School at Rehoboth Home?
The following stories are reflections shared by a recent visitor to Rehoboth: One special student learning at the Trinity School is Monica. She and her sister Yaamini came to Rehoboth a few years ago having just lost their parents to AIDS. They had their beautiful black Indian hair shaved to remove lice and sat with their arms around one another trying to find solace. Soon they realized they were in the company of the very One who loves them and they began to learn of Him and began playing and interacting with the other children. Monica has a good friend Chandu, who all the other children love to call Shadrach. He had been abandoned by distant relatives when his parents died, and a pastor brought...

A Story of Compassion from Rehoboth
Here is a story from someone who recently visited Rehoboth Home: I would like to tell you about one little family that illustrates the need and compassion found at Rehoboth. One day while at Rehoboth, a slight woman named Shanti came to speak to Malliga, the ministry leader. She appeared to be about 30 years old, was wearing a blue sari and had a countenance that could not hide her deep sadness. Later Malliga explained to us that Shanti was afflicted with AIDS from her deceased husband and was growing weaker. She had already visited three times, begging to have her children accepted into the safety of Rehoboth before she died. Malliga had been deferring the decision as it was an awkward time...

Learn About Rehoboth Home for Children
Below is an excerpt from a newsletter about Rehoboth Home for Children: “To understand India, you must imagine yourself walking down dusty streets, past the sights of fruit stands, jasmine flowers, multi-colored fabrics, and Hindu shrines; past the homeless, the poor, and their small homes made of coconut leaves; and through the sounds of bustling traffic and busy marketplaces. However, in one southern city, there is an oasis where visitors are greeted by children’s laughter and the sounds of them at play. Welcome to the Rehoboth Home for Children. The home is made up of two buildings (one for boys and one for girls) separated by a grassy field. A vivacious Indian woman...
