Churches To Be Closed in Algeria

We recently received this email at our offices. Please make this a matter of prayer.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Warm greetings in Jesus' powerful and mighty Name!
The head of the EPA ( The Algerian Protestant Church Association) has received the following order from the High Police commissioner in his town:
"On May 5th, 2011, a decision has been made according to article number 566/11, to close down throughout the country all the Christian worship places, which are not designated for religious purposes. I, Mr Ben Salem, the high commissioner of the police in the Bejaia area, have informed Mr. Mustapha Krim, the President of the ( EPA ) Algerian Protestant Church...

Fava bean recipe from Syria
These broad beans are known throughout much of the world. They are popular from China to Peru. They are widely used in Egypt, Ethiopia, Greece and Iran. They are very nutritional, and have significant amounts of key vitamins. Fava beans have been known since ancient times. Indeed, in ancient Rome they were used as a means of casting a vote. They are common in many cultures and cuisines. They also are associated with many folktales. In fact, the famous beans of the Jack and the Beanstalk story were probably fava beans.

Photos of Egyptian Protests

The protests in Egypt have drawn the attention of the world in recent weeks. Just a few days ago we received these photos at the offices of Advancing Native Missions. These pictures illustrate the unrest and turmoil that is currently happening in Egypt. Please remember to keep this country in your prayers. And especially remember to pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in Egypt.

Knitting Hats for Jesus

We have been blessed and encouraged so much by Carolyn, a sweet, industrious widow who continues to knit hats for the warehouse. The first time she called us, she told us she had “lots of hats” and was wondering if we could use them. When we went to pick them up we were blown away! We loaded boxes and boxes of “hats for Jesus” into the mission van.
Imagine our surprise and delight when we began counting them and discovered she had knit just under two thousand colorful, attractive hats! Two hundred went into the Middle East container and the majority went on the Republic of Georgia container to warm the heads of many adults and...

Iranian Christians Arrested

Over 70 Believers Are Imprisoned In Iran During Christmas!
To the left are the faces of faithful witnesses for Christ who are now imprisoned and suffering for nothing else than being Christians. These are only a few of the dozens of people who are being persecuted in Iran today. This is the story of what has happened to them in recent weeks.
In the early morning hours after Christmas day, the Iranian government arrested 25 Christians in Tehran and other locations. They also planned to detain sixteen others, but were unable to locate them. There are also unconfirmed reports that the authorities have arrested over 50 other Christians. According...

ME Container News

First of all, we want to thank you for your support in collecting items for the Middle East container. It was sent out from our Warehouse on Tuesday. The items sent in the container will be a great blessing to the kids who attend the camps, as well as to those who delight in serving them. Thank you to everyone who donated all the school and craft supplies, as well as the hygiene items that will be handed out to the kids. Because of the generous donations that poured in, we were able to purchase 300 yards of fleece, 1,000 frisbees, and many other fun items such as chalk and water balloons. We know that the kids will be delighted by each item that was given for them. Once again, we thank you for...
