Send Them!

YOU CAN BE A BLESSING TODAY...SEND THEM! This summer, Advancing Native Missions is sending two teams of willing brothers and sisters starting June 28th, to minister alongside one of our South Asia native ministries, Bombay Teen Challenge. This ministry is working hard to Stop Sexual Slavery! (see video below) Many of the team members have never been overseas, some are college students, but all feel called to minister among those who have been freed from a life of bondage. Along with leaving a trail of God's love wherever they go, one purpose of these teams will be to work with the BTC Education Coordinator to help the ladies, boys, and children with their conversational English....

God's Restoring Story of a Student in India

Two summers ago (2008) Mindy & I (Trisha) had the opportunity to travel in the US with eight ladies from one of the ministries ANM serves. We visited churches and government officials to share the ladies' testimonies of restoration. The following is one of the lady's testimony. She is currently attending a university in India. D's mother had been forced to work in the Red Light District from a young age. She had "D" while working and raised her within the district. "D" does not know who her earthly father is. She grew up moving around and living with lots of different people because of her mother's line of work. She understood what her mom did and says she knew...

Thanking God for You

Happy Thanksgiving!! I am thanking the Lord for your partnership with us. If you are reading this blog post, I am thanking the Lord for YOU specifically. Thank you for your prayers and concern for native missionaries. Please continue to pray for the children at Rehoboth Home for Children, the teachers at Trinity Nursery and Primary School, and the educators working with former prostitutes through Bombay Teen Challenge. We can learn much about thanking the Lord regardless of our circumstances from Pavithra and Gokul, children at Rehoboth. These children recently had delicate surgery on their hands to help correct deformities. Even through their pain, they cried out to the Lord,...

Pray for the Teachers of Bombay Teen Challenge

Bombay Teen Challenge is a ministry committed to restoring the lives of women, men, and children in the Red Light District of Mumbai, India. When I spent time with those who were healing, the transformational power of Jesus was evident. Education is one of the many components of this ministry. There are many teachers who work with children and adults everyday in subjects including English, math, science, and so forth. Please join us in praying for these teachers.  Pray for the educational coordinator Annie who makes decisions for the educational needs of the entire ministry. Pray for the teachers of the women who are studying and healing at the same time. Pray...

Pray for the Staff of Bombay Teen Challenge

Please take time to pray for the staff of Bombay Teen Challenge who minister to prostitutes and their children in Mumbai’s Red Light District. They are committed to prayer and devote themselves to it for five hours at a time, three days a week. They provide the hope of Jesus a difficult place, where it is easy to become discouraged. They work tirelessly building relationships with women and caring for their medical and spiritual needs. The following are prayer requests from the staff of the health clinic. Often times, people are open to the gospel and then suddenly their hearts are closed. This is an ongoing spiritual battle that discourages the staff. Pray for hearts to be open to...

India 2009 Trip Report: Bombay Teen Challenge

While we were in India, we visited Bombay Teen Challenge (BTC), a ministry focused on breaking the cycle of human trafficking in Mumbai’s Red Light District. When talking with prostitutes and brothel owners, the staff emphasizes two main points: 1.    Jesus loves you Women can believe this because the ministry is right there in the heart of the Red Light District offering free medical and dental care along with prayer and worship services. The BTC staff members are building relationships with the women. 2.    Jesus has a plan for your life This is more difficult for women to believe. Everything that they had has been ripped from them and many are dying...

Trisha's Insights on India

First off I am so thankful that the Lord allows me to do what I truly enjoy. I feel so blessed that He has allowed me to travel and work with young people. I am humbled often that He chose me to be able to work with people who are making a difference for the Lord around the world. It was truly a blessing to be a part of the team to visit Bombay Teen Challenge. This was my first visit to India and will not be my last. As some of you may know I have visited some international hospitals on past mission trips. So, I make my parents and others very nervous when I travel overseas. I truly believe the times I was sick in the past was because I was not traveling the path God wanted for me....
