Would you consider helping Philippine Gospel Association (PGA) purchase a new ministry vehicle for their medical outreaches?  Take a look at project #504 on our project page (for more information) and also go to our Southeast Asia tab and check out PGA's page.  The cost for this new vehicle is $15,000.00 but if many join in to help reach the goal, this ministry team could be using their new ministry vehicle in a short amount of time. The photo posted is one style of vehicle and PGA has decided to purhase a Kia L270  that seats 19 people. One of our ministry partners has a need for an otoscope and opthalmoscope set. Philippine Gospel Association is a medical missions team serving those in need in the Philippines. These instruments, which are used for checking the ears and eyes would be a wonderful addition to their current equipment. Many of the medical outreaches they hold have individuals that have severe problems but without proper equipment, it goes undetected. A  garage sale is another good tool for your ministry, group or organization to use for raising funds. This idea comes from a church in Maryland and is supplied by a staff member here at Advancing Native Missions (Thank you JoAnne). Their church did this annually to raise funding for their missions outreach. The idea is to sell space to people in the community who are interested in participating in a neighborhood garage sale. You make money on the spaces sold but you also have members of the church or organization donate items that will also be sold with all proceeds going to missions.    The method used was to also combine the sale with a family fun day...

In recent weeks portions of Indonesia have been devastated by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Merapi.  One of our indigenous ministry partners has sent a message regarding this to our ANM offices: "Dear beloved in the Lord,"The volcano is still erupting up to this day.  Even today it erupted three times and we have soft ash raining on us.  Believers of three house churches on the slope of Mt. Merapi had to evacuate down into another location about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the villages where they were located.  They were forced to do this to escape the hot volcanic clouds.  So far our location is okay, even though white ashes are...

  Diwali is the "festival of lights" that originated with Hinduism but is now celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs.  The festival honors several religious events.  It also pays homage to Lakshmi, the consort of the Hindu God Vishnu. This year, 2010, Diwali begins on Friday, November 5.  The festival lasts for five days, and is a national holiday in India.       Looking for a cool way to raise support for a mission project?   Is your youth group, church or family willing to work to provide income to meet a need?  How about running a "rent-a-kid" program.  IT'S EASY!  Placing posters in your local area or church stating that children and youth are available to provide odd job services for donations. A simple blanket!  Many people in the world have one, most people have extras in closets, just in case.  Imagine living in an area of the world where temperatures can become extremely cold and not owning one blanket.  This ministry based in the Northwestern part of India shares the love of Christ in many ways.  One wonderful way is giving a blanket to those in need.  The photo attached shows the joy of members of a leper colony (radiant smiles and laughter).  Phyically they suffer, but this ministry is taking the time to show them love.  If purchasing a blanket is something you would like to do, see project # 241 for more information. ...

Purchase a new pair of shoes and throw away the box - that's how I do it!  Yet, in Kashmir, India, shoesboxes are being recycled to bless many children.  You ask how?  The Ministry of KEF fills empty shoeboxes with simple gifts bringing joy to the hearts of children.  This is an exciting, effective project that I am certain you will want to be a part of.  Read more about this on project # 242....
