Peter Hocking was born in Peru to American missionary parents who faithfully served there for 40 years. After completing Bible college in the U.S., Peter returned to Peru, began Segadores Missionary Movement (SMM) in 1963, and gave up his U.S. citizenship to become a Peruvian citizen. SMM mobilizes, trains, and sends out Peruvian missionaries to take the Gospel to the nation’s unreached jungle tribes. In addition, SMM runs seminars for church leaders to help them deal with the devastating effects of prolonged terrorism and violence in their land. SMM works closely with churches in Peru to actively nurture a missionary vision in them.
