Organized by Wilson Ladringan, whose ambition as a child was to become a soldier like his father, the Aetas Bible Study and Worship Center (ABSC) is a ministry reaching out to the illiterate and impoverished aborigines of the Philippines known as the Aetas. The eruption of Mount Pinatubo in June 1991 buried most of the mountains of Zambales in volcanic ash and sand, displacing many of the Aetas who lived in these mountains. ABSC runs Maranatha Children’s Home that primarily caters to the physical, educational, and spiritual needs of the indigent Aeta children and youth ages 5 to 18 years from the different tribal villages in Zambales. Both Wilson and Cora have degrees in education, which enables them to provide training to the Aeta children through the “To God Be The Glory School.” Wilson writes, “It is the fervent desire of our hearts to see the Aeta children grow and develop into a God-fearing, educated, mature, and committed group of Christians who can some day be used mightily by God to evangelize their own people. This is our primary goal and vision.”
