Prayer Alert--January 2003

Dear Praying Friends,
The year is off to a poor start in terms of persecution. Many of our brethren are suffering in many parts of the world. In particular, please pray for the following situations:
Indonesia--Rev. Renaldy Damanik has been arrested for "inciting violence." His trial is currently underway. Please pray for these false charges to be dropped. Please pray for his family during this time.
Pakistan--The trial of Saleem and Rasheed, two Christian brothers falsely accused of blasphemy, continues to be postponed. Please pray that their case will be heard and that all charges against them will be dropped. Please pray for their wives and children and for their elderly father who is caring for all of the family members.
Jordan--Siham Qandah has been ordered imprisoned unless she surrenders her children to the care of her Muslim brother, who plans to raise the children as Muslims. Siham and her children are Christians. Please pray for the Lord to intervene.
Mexico--Two months ago 27 Christian families fled their village in Chiapas after an act of violent persecution. Now eleven of the refugees have had warrants issued for their arrests--all apparently on false charges. Please pray for the protection of these families as they remain in hiding.

Thank you for your continued prayers for the Persecuted Church.
The Lord bless you.
